A cinematic masquerade experience in Boulder
The Luminary Masquerade began in 2010 in Seoul, South Korea, where founder Felipe Mosqueda Yáñez was teaching English and building a new community, one social evening at a time. What started as a way to meet people soon became something more — an evening dressed up in beauty, in service of a cause: orphanages, cancer associations, and local charitable work.
The gatherings travelled with him — first through Mexico, then to a home base in Denver, Colorado, where the masquerade lent its evenings to Children’s Hospital Colorado and charity: water, and helped inspire Mile High Wine Tours along the way.
Now the masquerade returns once more, reimagined for Boulder’s Sundance-season energy — a cinematic evening of art, music, mystery, and performance, where guests, artists, sponsors, and community partners gather to celebrate beauty and meaningful impact.
“I wanted a reason for strangers to become friends — and for that friendship to do some good in the world.”

CITIES & COUNTING
The Luminary Masquerade began in 2010 in Seoul, South Korea, where founder Felipe Mosqueda Yáñez started hosting social charity events while teaching English and building community in a new country. What began as a way to meet people and create connection soon became a way to support meaningful causes, including orphanages, cancer associations, and local charitable organizations.
The events later continued in Mexico and eventually found a home base in Denver, Colorado, supporting organizations such as Children’s Hospital Colorado, charity: water, and other community causes. That same spirit of hospitality, connection, and impact later helped inspire Mile High Wine Tours.
Now, the masquerade returns in a new form for Boulder’s Sundance-season energy.
The Luminary Masquerade is an elevated evening of art, music, mystery, performance, and connection — a cinematic gathering where guests, artists, sponsors, and community partners come together to celebrate beauty, creativity, and meaningful impact.
