In 2010, teaching English in Seoul, Felipe Mosqueda Yáñez wanted a way to build a community. He dressed a social evening in beauty and pointed it at a cause, local orphanage and cancer associations.

Candlelit social gatherings created around friendship, community and supporting local causes.
The early years.
Mexico
The gatherings continued across new communities, carrying forward the same spirit of curiosity, celebration and connection.
2014 - 2015
Denver, Colorado
The concept evolved into larger produced masquerades combining live entertainment, music, interactive experiences, premium hospitality, masks and charitable giving.
January 2027
Boulder County, Colorado
Luminary returns reimagined as a cinematic, multi-night arts and cultural series during Sundance season — with new artists, collaborators, experiences and chapters still to be revealed.
What Endures
The form evolves. The intention remains.

Gathering can do some good
From its earliest gatherings, the masquerade has connected social experience with community impact — from supporting orphanages abroad to nonprofit and charitable initiatives in Colorado.
That tradition continues with Luminary through collaborations with local nonprofit, cultural and community partners.
Specific 2027 organizations can be added once partnerships are finalized.
